To create these
sweet accessories, you will need:
an old
pair of jeans, rhinestones and rhinestone setter (optional),
small ball beads, glitter, safety pins, fabric glue and scissors.
To make a denim necklace:
Cut a strip of denim fabric 1" X 15".
The length of the necklace may very according to the neck size.
Fray the edges using a fork to carefully pull the loose thread away.
Using a rhinestone setter, position the rhinestones on the denim
and set them in. If you do not have a rhinestone setter, glue the
rhinestones in place. Once the rhinestones are set, use 3 or 4
safety pins to use as a closure. See Picture #1. Using smaller
lengths of denim, follow the same directions to create bracelets
or rings.
Denim book
cover and notepad purse:Measure the length and width
of your notepad while it is open. Add 1" to each side of the measurements
(add 2" per side for a larger book) and cut out denim to that size. With
the reverse side of the denim facing you, fold and tape the top and
bottom edge over 1".

See picture #2. Next, fold the sides in 1" and
tape the denim flap to the inner cover of the book. See picture #3. To
decorate with rhinestones, remove the denim cover to apply the gems
with a rhinestone setter or glue and re-attach the cover when the design
is completed. Make it look like a purse by gluing a triangular piece of
denim in the center to create the look of a flap. String small ball beads
together to use as a handle and you're ready to go.
