Tip #1: Polish your note-taking skills!
One of the best ways to improve your grades is taking good notes. Good notes
are what help you learn and study. Learning and studying is what gets you
those big As on your report card.
Step # 1: Listen up! Listening carefully is
the first step to absorbing important information.
Step #2: Sit at the front of the class-room. If you're
easily distracted this will help you focus on what the teacher is saying. It also helps you see
the board much better.
Step #3: Ask Questions! If you don't
understand something, ask the teacher to
explain it again. Remember, no question is stupid, and you can never ask too
many of them.
Step #4: Be selective! Don't try and write down every single word
that the teacher says. Instead, really listen to what they're saying and write down
important definitions, names, dates, and facts.
Step #5: Actively participate!
Pay close attention. Ask questions. Volunteer answers, and really think about what the teacher is saying. It usually helps
you retain the information better for test time.
Tip #2: Prepare your desk and
your mind for some serious studying!
Avoiding distractions and being organized are the two main things to remember
when studying. They're essential to staying focused on your school work.
Step #1: Move all things off of your desk that have nothing to do with your
homework or projects. For right now you want to concentrate only on
studying.

Step #2: Make sure you have what you need on your desk, any papers,
books or school supplies you'll need to dive right into your homework.
Step #3: Avoid getting completely off track. Turn off the television and tell
friends that call or come over that you'll be sure to catch up with them
later.
Step #4: Know your study style! Figure out whether you study better in
absolute silence or with some music playing in the background, then follow
what works for you. If you have a hard time staying focused and have a
friend that's a natural at studying, give them a call and have a team study
session. Don't get distracted, though. Only study with a friend when it
improves your concentration and keeps you on track.
Step #5: Just keep at it!
If you put your mind to something you can do anything!
